In Salon Derma Rolling Treatment
We choose to use a device Dermapen as it is safe, a natural skin rejuvenation process, and above all very effective. It is perfect as an alternative to other beauty treatments for acne scars, stretch marks and wrinkles, as DermaPen does not damage the skin or remove the epidermis layer. DermaPen is a skin rejuvenation treatment that has significant benefit for the following conditions:
- Reduces Acne Scarring
- Improves scar tissue
- Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
- Improves the appearance of stretch marks
- Enhances skin rejuvenation
- Great for anti-aging
- Improves the appearance of large pores
It is a wonderful treatment used to improve the thickness and tone of ageing skin, improving the appearance of fine wrinkles, areas of altered pigmentation and large pores. It is of particular value in the treatment of acne scarring, chicken pox scars and post-surgical scars. DermaPen can also be used to improve the appearance of stretch marks.
WHAT IS DERMAPEN SKIN NEEDLING?
DermaPen®, unlike earlier roller appliances, uses a sterile, one-use-only needle cartridge inserted into a pen-like device. The fine surgical steel microneedles are adjustable ranging from 0.25 mm to 2.5 mm in length
These needles penetrate the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which in turn cause the skin to mount an injury response. This procedure utilizes the collagen and elastin to thicken the skin, repair scars and smooth out any fine lines and wrinkles. This stimulus also causes growth of new capillaries which improves blood supply to the skin.
IS IT PAINFUL?
DermaPen® is a very quick treatment, therefore minor, if any, discomfort is experienced. As the device is motorised, it glides extremely fast over the face without catching or causing any dermal tearing. The depth of the needles is adjustable for your comfort. A numbing cream can also be provided before your treatment. Talk to your therapist for more information.
WHAT SKIN'S CAN HAVE THIS TREATMENT?
DermaPen is safe to use on all skin types and all skin colours. DermaPen skin needling is particularly suited to those with acne scarring, lines and wrinkles, sun damaged skin, loss of tone including elasticity and volume.
IS THERE SKIN THAT CANNOT HAVE THIS TREATMENT?
Yes, there are some skins that needling may not be suitable for this treatment.
If you have used Roaccutane in the last 12 months, are pregnant or breast feeding, have keloid scars, bruising, open skin or using certain forms of medication.
Your skin therapist will be able to provide more information if required.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
We recommend you start with 3 treatments and the number of treatments required after the initial 3 will depend on the individual's response. Treatments should be 6-8 weeks apart.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT MY SKIN TO BE LIKE AFTER THE TREATMENTS?
All skins will benefit from skin needling, results are evident after a few weeks and skin texture will continue to improve over a 12 month period.
IN WHAT WAY WILL MY SKIN BENEFIT?
These results will be greatly enhanced with the use of a home roller and great skin care.
Skin texture changes and fine lines are visibly reduced.
- Increase in collagen and elastin fibres.
- Reduction in pore size.
- Over production of sebum is reduced.
- Normalisation of melanin production.
- Thickens and improves the appearance of thin, crepey skin
- Reduces scarring such as acne, chicken pox and surgical scarring
- Improves the appearance of stretch marks
HOW CAN I MAINTAIN MY RESULTS?
By using the Home Dermaroller. This is a 0.25mm roller. DON'T be tempted to purchase a roller on line. We know how our rollers are made, we know who made them and that each and every roller is compliant with strict guidelines for quality assurance.
If you have tried half the creams out there and they didn't work, it is because they cannot penetrate past the skin's surface to the epidermis where collagen production actually occurs. Rolling at home increases absorption of creams to the deeper skin layers where cell repair actually occurs.
Improves your skin by:
- Reducing acne
- Thickening fragile skin
- Firming lines & wrinkles
- Smoothing texture
- Reducing large pores
- Brightening skin surface
