How and why do wrinkles form?
Most of our facial wrinkles occur from the constant forming of facial expressions. The wrinkles formed from these expressions are called dynamic wrinkles.
eg. when we frown, vertical lines between our eyebrows become noticeable.
When we are young, our skin springs back after pulling that expression. When we age, the dynamic wrinkles remain in the skin, and these wrinkles are called static wrinkles. These are lines or wrinkles that are still present when we are at rest.
The environment, smoking, sunlight and stress all contribute to the creation of lines and wrinkles.

How do we reduce/prevent wrinkles?
By injecting a muscle relaxant prescription only medicine that is administered only from a qualified doctor. It is registered for the treatment of crow's feet, forehead lines, and lines that appear between your eyebrows (glabellar frown lines). Wrinkle prevention injections should be combined with other rejuvenation procedures such as IPL photo-rejuvenation, facial treatments such as peels and micro-dermabrasion.

How does the muscles relaxant work?
It is used to relax specific facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles. Once the muscles are relaxed, you cannot contract them and continue to make that expression that caused the wrinkles. The lines gradually smooth and new lines are prevented from forming.

How long does it last?

The effect can last up to 4 months before the lines will slowly return. The effect seems to last longer the more treatments you have.

Will it cause more wrinkles to form?
It does not cause more wrinkles to form. If you choose not to have further treatments, your muscles will eventually return to their per-treatment level.

Should I have a wrinkle relaxant or dermal filler?
Preventative muscle relaxing injections and dermal fillers do different things. The muscle relaxant works best on wrinkles in motion, ½ those which form due to expression but are not obvious when no expression is made. Whereas dermal fillers literally fill the crease or void which has already been formed.

How long will the treatment take?
This will depend on how many area you have treated. Most appointments are scheduled for 30-45 minutes. The cosmetic specialist will discuss with you the areas to be treated to achieve the best results.
