FAQs
-
Dermapen® uses a sterile, one-use-only needle cartridge inserted into a pen-like device. The fine, surgical steel adjustable microneedles (ranging from 0.25mm - 2.5 mm in length) penetrate the skin to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. This in turn causes the skin to mount an injury response. The treatment utilizes the collagen and elastin to thicken the skin, repair scars and smooth out any fine lines and wrinkles to stimulate the growth of new capillaries which improves blood supply to the skin.

Dermapen® is a very quick treatment, therefore minor, however, some discomfort can be experienced. As the device is motorised, it glides extremely fast over the face without catching or causing any dermal tearing. The depth of the needles is adjustable for your comfort and if required, a numbing cream can also be provided prior to treatment.

Dermapen® is safe to use on all skin types and all skin colours. It’s particularly suited to those with acne scarring, lines and wrinkles, sun damaged skin and loss of tone including elasticity and volume.

We recommend starting with 3 treatments, but the number of treatments required after the initial 3 will depend on the individual's response. Treatments should be 6-8 weeks apart.
-
Results are evident after a few weeks and skin texture will continue to improve over a 12 month period.

We suggest using an at home dermaroller that can be purchased in store. We strongly discourage purchasing a roller online as they need to be compliant with strict guidelines for quality assurance and this is not always the case with online purchasing. Rolling at home increases absorption of creams to the deeper skin layers where cell repair actually occurs.
